Going the extra step to use the customer’s name in your conversation signals to them that you hear them and care about them. Using their name in conversation will also help you remember them when they come back in. Then you can greet them by their name again, building on that relationship. Actively listen to your customers. Practice active listening by paying attention fully. Cast away thoughts about what you are going to say next, what you need to do after the customer leaves, or what happened earlier in the day. Ignore distractions from other customers and the phone ringing.  Show that you are listening: Make eye contact, have an open posture, nod attentively, smile, etc.  Provide feedback: Provide feedback with reflections, clarification, and summarizing. Example “You all are interested in looking at pendants. Do you know if you are wanting to see gemstone or diamond pendants? . . .Our diamond pendants are over here. Let’s try some on and see what you would like for your anniversary.”</image:title>

      <image:caption>Self Management Practice: Did you know that we have at least 50,000 thoughts per day? Some of these thoughts are self-talk. Self-talk can be positive or negative. Positive self-talk helps us to stay on track and get things done throughout the day by intercepting our emotions. Negative self-talk is self defeating, untrue, and not helpful. One way to improve self management is to decrease negative self-talk by turning them around. Here are key examples to practice (Bradberry &amp; Greaves, 2009):  Turn “I never” or “I always” into just this time or sometimes. “I never get the big sale” becomes “I sold that 2 carat diamond last Christmas and I can do something big again.” Replace judgemental statements with factual ones. “I am so dumb for not placing the order yesterday” becomes “I made a mistake and I will place the order now.” Don’t play the blame game.  Thinking “It’s all my fault” or “It’s all their fault” becomes “We both made mistakes and here is a new action plan to improve our process and communication at work.”</image:caption>

Average revenue growth per year increased by fifteen percent growing from 11% in 2013 to 2016 (before Wishfluence) to 13% in 2017 to 2020 (after Wishfluence). During that time, average customer growth per year doubled, growing from 2.5% to 5.6%, and average transaction growth per year nearly tripled, growing from 3% to 8%.</image:caption>
